Ok. I'd like to know how, in the course of installing wxGTK (2.4.2), I managed to aquire 7 extra GB of used space on my hard drive? I've searched my entire hard drive with no luck (well, honestly, I have no idea what I'm looking for so I can't say "no luck"). I've uninstalled wxGTK (have since reinstalled in) but that didn't seem to have any impact.
This isn't the first time this has happened. Unfortunately, the last time, I can't remember exactly what it was I did (if anything).. I know I'm not the only one that has had this happen.
I'd like some assistance in locating this 7 extra GB lying around on my box. Any help would be appreciated...

Check /var/tmp/portage/
do "du -ms * | sort -n" to list everything in the directory by size, in megabytes. _________________ I will keel yoo grub |

Ok. How this is annoying but it's definately my fault. I have a script that backs up my user directories every other day. Apperantly, the script got "stuck" on one user directory and bzipped a tarred archive of a user directory. So it left it in /root, a directory I hardly ever check...
However, NuclearFusi0n, your tip did help me locate it.
